Celle qui parle et ceux qui hurlent

In the last few days (or is it weeks already?), there has been a surge of racist comments and demonstrations worthy of the dumbest football fans jeering at black players or throwing bananas at them. The target was French justice minister Christiane Taubira, a black  professor of economics from French Guyana, and for what seemed like a very very long time, none of her colleagues in government seemed to have noticed the public insults relayed in the media. When a far-right weekly published a "satirical" cover implicitly equating Madame Taubira to an ape, someone finally had to react officially.
